The Ford Maverick is a smart return to compact vans. Anything alike to the smaller, small height vehicles of yore from Chevrolet, Mazda, Toyota and Nissan. When the Maverick sadly doesn’t arrive in a single taxi, lengthy mattress configuration, it is nevertheless a functional car. Now, Go Fast Campers would like to make the Maverick even much more practical with its most up-to-date GFC System Camper, which brings together a camper shell and rooftop tent to switch the Maverick into a really neat basecamp.

GFC statements that a foundation model Ford Maverick and Platform Camper charge a blended total of $28,695. That is approximately $20,000 significantly less than the ordinary rate of a new motor vehicle in the U.S., which is now $48,043. The enterprise says a Maverick with a System Camper buys you a far more useful and practical car with a good-sized bed (4.5-foot,) enclosed cargo location and a rooftop tent — for significantly much less.

The GFC Platform Camper fees $7,700 by by itself, which is even now a good deal. But at least it is not cheaply-developed, and it’s created in the U.S.A. The camper has an aluminum area body created to distribute hundreds evenly and securely. The shell has locking aluminum panels with billet aluminum hinges, and an extruded aluminum T-keep track of alongside the top outer edge to connect lights, awnings and resources.

The camper weighs 255 kilos in complete, but its roof will carry up to 500 kilos when shut. If lighter loads like mountain bikes, boards and boats up to 75 kilos are on the roof, proprietors can open the camper without having having to unload any gear.

The rooftop tent has a sleeping surface area of 50 x 90 inches, and 7.5 ft of standing top when calculated from the Maverick’s bed to the highest position of the open tent. Inspite of the roomy area, the camper matches the Maverick’s mattress without including duration or width, and only adds 6.5 inches to the truck’s height.

GFC says the peak is mainly about clearing the Maverick’s sharkfin antenna, but a shorter antenna could provide the overall top down for motorists who fear about parking garage clearance. It’s not like the Maverick is tall to start out with, but just about every inch counts when you’re creating a realistic, lower-profile rig.

The price tag of a Maverick and GFC System Camper is about the same — if not significantly less — as a foundation model Subaru Outback, which would make these persuasive and a superior value at a look. But that is assuming you could obtain a foundation Maverick in the 1st spot, when averting dealer markups on its $20,995 sticker rate.
